Platypus

Platypus have: four legs, a furry body, beady eyes, a wide beaverlike tail, a duck'sbill and webbed feet. He lives in freshwater lakes and rives. The female platypus is stronger, in fact, unlike other mammals, lacks teats or milk-dispensing nipples. A platypus mom secretes milk through pores in her bellyand rather than carry her young internally, she lays eggs! These biological traits are rare in mammals so the Platypus has been classified as monotremes (one hole), that is a single cavity through wich they expel eggs, feces, urine (a characteristic of reptiles). The Platypus is nocturnal, he spends active hours diving underwater for food: aquatic invertebrates or animals without backbones (crayfish, shrimps). The adult male Platypus is one of the only venomous mammals in world.
